course design

identifying your professional language needs

All our language courses at Rainbow are tailor designed to suit the professional language training requirements of the individual. As well as business language skills, your work may require you to cover specialist language areas, for example: law, finance, pharmaceuticals, HR issues, etc. Having a clear picture of the nature of your business and how you are planning to utilise your language skills is central to designing a course specific to your needs.

Your Course Director will discuss all your professional requirements, identifying the proficiency level you need to reach and the skill and vocabulary areas which require special focus.

selecting your tutor

All Rainbow tutors are highly qualified and have proven track records of teaching excellence. We select committed tutors, who have a dynamic approach in the classroom and the flexibility to adapt to the needs of the individual.
Your tutor will be selected with the experience and approach most suited to your training needs and a full tutor profile will be available for your approval.

assessing your current language skills

Your tutor will make an assessment of your current language proficiency. The information gathered at this preliminary stage is essential to planning your course.
Assessments can be carried out at the school, at your place of work, or over the telephone.

designing your Course Plan

Based on your training requirements and assessment of your proficiency skills your Course Director will compile a comprehensive Course Plan. This will include:

1) Progress targets
2) A learning plan including details of grammar, functions and vocabulary
3) Details of specialist vocabulary and language usage
4) Skills focus
5) Self study programme
