Rainbow’s telephone tuition offers the perfect language training solution for companies based outside London and for busy executives who need flexibility in their learning while making no compromises on quality and attention to individual student requirements.

With a Rainbow Telephone Learning Programme you and your tutor interact on the phone as effectively as if you were in the same classroom. You and your tutor speak in real time and view learning materials simultaneously including, company material newspaper articles and text books. The learning material is sent to you at the beginning of the course and backed up by updated learning material posted to you on a weekly basis.

Rainbow has a careful tutor selection process. All our tutors are native speakers, fully qualified as language teachers with a university degree and have proven track records in teaching languages for business and general purposes. We also have a careful monitoring process in place ensuring that standards are maintained.

Rainbow’s aim is to give you the skills to use the target language in the real world with confidence. From the outset your course will be extremely practical, while at the same time ensuring a solid grasp of the grammar and correct use of the language.

You will be equipped with headphone and amplifier easy to install to your telephone. This allows you to interact with your tutor and, at the same time, keep your hands free from the telephone handset.

Teaching is student led and the emphasis is on a lively and interactive approach. Language structures and vocabulary are introduced at a pace suited to the student and practiced with an emphasis on developing key skills identified in the course plan: writing business letters, dealing with telephone conversations, taking part in meetings and negotiations.

Self-study plays a key role in telephone language training. The number of self-study hours recommended is 4 hours to each hour of telephone tuition. This will be discussed by you and your course director at the planning stage.

Each telephone session will be followed up by self-study tasks aimed at consolidating what you have covered in your class and acquiring new language to practice with your tutor in your following telephone session. Tasks are set by your tutor and are based on learning materials such as CD ROM, audiotapes, textbooks and exercises specifically designed by your tutor.

One of the great advantages of telephone language training is that you can have your class either at home or in your work place. We will do our best to match your preferred time of day with the availability of our tutor. If you want to cancel an online session we will not charge for the session provided that you give us 24 hours notice.

As with all Rainbow courses your telephone tuition programme will be tailor made, taking into account your business requirements, your goals and the speed with which you want to attain them.

If you already have some language skills you will have an telephone assessment of present language proficiency.

You will be assigned a course director who will discuss with you your business language objectives, proficiency goals, particular professional requirements, suitable learning materials, and the number of telephone sessions and self-study hours you need.

When planning your programme together with your course director it is vital that you make a realistic assessment of the time that you will be able to spend week by week on self study as well as on-line tuition.

On the basis of the information gathered your personalised course plan will be presented to you for approval. Your course plan will include:

All our courses are based on a combination of self-study and telephone tuition. To take the most of your course we advise 4 hours of self-study per each one tuition hour. The total number of tuition hours to book depends on the language proficiency to be attained (please see attached our proficiency chart). The frequency of your telephone tuition depends on how soon you want achieve your language objectives.
