Teaching Approach for your telephone tuitionRainbow’s aim is to give you the skills to use the target language in the real world with confidence. From the outset your course will be extremely practical, while at the same time ensuring a solid grasp of the grammar and correct use of the language.
You will be equipped with headphone and amplifier easy to install to your telephone. This allows you to interact with your tutor and, at the same time, keep your hands free from the telephone handset.
Teaching is student led and the emphasis is on a lively and interactive approach. Language structures and vocabulary are introduced at a pace suited to the student and practiced with an emphasis on developing key skills identified in the course plan: writing business letters, dealing with telephone conversations, taking part in meetings and negotiations.
Self-study HoursSelf-study plays a key role in telephone language training. The number of self-study hours recommended is 4 hours to each hour of telephone tuition. This will be discussed by you and your course director at the planning stage.
Each telephone session will be followed up by self-study tasks aimed at consolidating what you have covered in your class and acquiring new language to practice with your tutor in your following telephone session. Tasks are set by your tutor and are based on learning materials such as CD ROM, audiotapes, textbooks and exercises specifically designed by your tutor.
SchedulingOne of the great advantages of telephone language training is that you can have your class either at home or in your work place. We will do our best to match your preferred time of day with the availability of our tutor. If you want to cancel an online session we will not charge for the session provided that you give us 24 hours notice.
